Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2010 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Queen Victoria and Prince Albert; studies for 'The Marriage of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert in the Chapel Royal, St. James' Palace, London, 10 February 1840' (Royal Collection, London) by George Hayter. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,062.50 (€ 1,292.10) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Hayter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Charlotte, Countess de la Bourdonnaye (1795-1875), Full-Length, In A Green Dress, Seated On A Day Bed On A Terrace, A Dog On Her Lap, Before A Draped Curtain, With An Extensive Landscape Beyond in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 46,800.00 (€ 69,360.56).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of Charlotte, Countess de la Bourdonnaye (1795-1875), Full-Length, In A Green Dress, Seated On A Day Bed On A Terrace, A Dog On Her Lap, Before A Draped Curtain, With An Extensive Landscape Beyond im Juni 2005
