Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Lines in Color by Sol LeWitt was auctioned at Christies in Milan in December last year. The price achieved of EUR 44,100.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sol LeWitt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Wavy Brushstrokes in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 449,000.00 (€ 636,531.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Lines in Color von Sol LeWitt kam im Dezember letzten Jahres bei Christies in Mailand zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 44.100,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sol LeWitt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Wavy Brushstrokes im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 449.000,00 (€ 636.531,19).
