This artwork by Song Kun achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Beijing in June 2014. In the Chinese Art auction, the work Ice Age sold for CNY 885,000.00 (€ 104,208.91) - well above the upper estimate of CNY 450,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Song Kun - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Garden of Auspicious Animals, which sold at auction in December 2021 for HKD 2,375,000.00 (€ 269,018.38).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 97 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Song Kun erzielte im Juni 2014 bei Sothebys in Beijing einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Chinese Art wurde die Arbeit Ice Age für CNY 885.000,00 (€ 104.208,91) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von CNY 450.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Song Kun mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Garden of Auspicious Animals beobachtet, die im Dezember 2021 für HKD 2.375.000,00 (€ 269.018,38) versteigert wurde.
