Auction result well in line with expectations
The work In the studio by Steven Spurrier was auctioned at Christies in London in February 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,625.00 (€ 1,914.11) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Steven Spurrier - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Flunkeys, which sold at auction in July 2004 for GBP 4,541.00 (€ 6,862.45).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit In the studio von Steven Spurrier kam im Februar 2011 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.625,00 (€ 1.914,11) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Steven Spurrier mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Flunkeys beobachtet, die im Juli 2004 für GBP 4.541,00 (€ 6.862,45) versteigert wurde.
