signed with monogram and dated '04' (lower right) and inscribed 'The Divoced Couple/making an effort to disguise their/utter hatred (for the sake of the child)/She, because he ran off with her best friend/& he because she won such a large settlement/(He initally felt guilty & took his eye off the ball)/Little boy given a new game boy to take his/mind off his parents.' (lower left)

Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work 'The divorced couple' by Sue Macartney-Snape was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2005, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 360.00 (€ 522.52). Admittedly, works by Sue Macartney-Snape have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sunday morning in the shires in December 2004 with an auction result of GBP 3,346.00 (€ 4,735.51).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit 'The divorced couple' von Sue Macartney-Snape im Dezember 2005 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 360,00 (€ 522,52) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sue Macartney-Snape auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sunday morning in the shires im Dezember 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.346,00 (€ 4.735,51).
