Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Second Skin by Thérèse Oulton was auctioned at Christies in London in January 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,187.50 (€ 1,433.22). Admittedly, works by Thérèse Oulton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Lacuna in December 2010 with an auction result of USD 13,750.00 (€ 10,362.50).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Second Skin von Thérèse Oulton im Januar 2012 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.187,50 (€ 1.433,22) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Thérèse Oulton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Lacuna im Dezember 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 13.750,00 (€ 10.362,50).
