Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Landscape Sketch by Thomas Cole was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in December 2013. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 35,000.00 (€ 25,400.97) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Cole achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Catskill Mountain House in December 2003 with an auction result of USD 1,463,500.00 (€ 1,161,784.55).
