Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Tempter by Thomas Cole was auctioned at Christies in New York in May 2012. It changed hands for a price of USD 110,500.00 (€ 89,372.37) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Cole achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Catskill Mountain House in December 2003 with an auction result of USD 1,463,500.00 (€ 1,161,784.55).

Die Arbeit The Tempter von Thomas Cole kam im Mai 2012 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 110.500,00 (€ 89.372,37) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Cole erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Catskill Mountain House im Dezember 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.463.500,00 (€ 1.161.784,55).
