Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2003 Christies in London held the auction Japanese Art & Design, which included the work Scene of balloon ascents by Utagawa Yoshitora. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,195.00 (€ 1,717.28) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Utagawa Yoshitora - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Igirisukoku (England), which sold at auction in March 2003 for USD 5,019.00 (€ 4,604.59).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion Japanese Art & Design durch, in der auch die Arbeit Scene of balloon ascents von Utagawa Yoshitora zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.195,00 (€ 1.717,28) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.200,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Utagawa Yoshitora mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Igirisukoku (England) beobachtet, die im März 2003 für USD 5.019,00 (€ 4.604,59) versteigert wurde.
