Auction result fails to reach estimate
When the work “My tits smell as peaches”, 1974 by Walasse Ting was auctioned at Bruun Rasmussen in June this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously set the estimate at DKK 300,000.00, but this failed to be met - in fact, the artwork changed hands for DKK 220,000.00 (€ 29,534.80). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Walasse Ting achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work I Love Summer Long in May 2018 with an auction result of HKD 6,820,000.00 (€ 745,115.68).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt den Schätzpreis
Als die Arbeit “My tits smell as peaches”, 1974 von Walasse Ting im Juni diesen Jahres bei Bruun Rasmussen versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit DKK 300.000,00 angegeben, den dieses Werk bei seiner Versteigerung leider nicht erreichen konnte - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für DKK 220.000,00 (€ 29.534,80) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Walasse Ting erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit I Love Summer Long im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 6.820.000,00 (€ 745.115,68).
