Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Chant de la forêt by Wilfredo Lam was sold in the The Art of the Surreal auction at Christies in London in February 2016. The price achieved of GBP 1,426,500.00 (€ 1,827,883.60) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,300,000.00 – 1,800,000.00. Admittedly, works by Wilfredo Lam have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Omi Obini in June 2020 with an auction result of USD 9,603,800.00 (€ 8,551,153.06).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Chant de la forêt von Wilfredo Lam wurde im Februar 2016 in der Auktion The Art of the Surreal bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.426.500,00 (€ 1.827.883,60) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.300.000,00 – 1.800.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wilfredo Lam auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Omi Obini im Juni 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 9.603.800,00 (€ 8.551.153,06).
