Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Woman With Watch by William James Glackens. The price achieved of USD 50,000.00 (€ 44,531.53) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William James Glackens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Café Lafayette (Portrait of Kay Laurell) in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 792,500.00 (€ 699,902.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Woman With Watch von William James Glackens zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 44.531,53) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William James Glackens erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Café Lafayette (Portrait of Kay Laurell) im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 792.500,00 (€ 699.902,85).
