Auction result misses estimated price range
In May last year a collector was able to acquire the work Hat + Five Roses, Vogue, Paris, 1956 by William Klein for EUR 5,292.00. This price was achieved in the auction Photographies at Christies in Paris and was even below the estimate range of EUR 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Klein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Smoke And Veil, Paris, 1958 (Vogue) in April 2006 with an auction result of USD 144,000.00 (€ 114,068.44).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Hat + Five Roses, Vogue, Paris, 1956 von William Klein für EUR 5.292,00 erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Photographies bei Christies in Paris erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Klein erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Smoke And Veil, Paris, 1958 (Vogue) im April 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 144.000,00 (€ 114.068,44).
