Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by William Klein could be acquired at Christies in New York in October last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Photographs auction, the work Smoke + Veil, Vogue, Paris, 1958 changed hands for USD 6,300.00 (€ 6,341.86) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Klein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Smoke And Veil, Paris, 1958 (Vogue) in April 2006 with an auction result of USD 144,000.00 (€ 114,068.44).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von William Klein konnte im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Photographs wechselte die Arbeit Smoke + Veil, Vogue, Paris, 1958 für USD 6.300,00 (€ 6.341,86) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 7.000,00 – 9.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Klein erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Smoke And Veil, Paris, 1958 (Vogue) im April 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 144.000,00 (€ 114.068,44).
