Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Faltenwurf (Submerged) by Wolfgang Tillmans was sold in the Christie's Interiors auction at Christies in New York in October 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,376.29) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wolfgang Tillmans achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Freischwimmer #84 in June 2017 with an auction result of GBP 605,000.00 (€ 688,982.12).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Faltenwurf (Submerged) von Wolfgang Tillmans wurde im Oktober 2012 in der Auktion Christie's Interiors bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 4.375,00 (€ 3.376,29) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wolfgang Tillmans erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Freischwimmer #84 im Juni 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 605.000,00 (€ 688.982,12).
