In October 2021 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern Art Evening Sale, which included the work In the Mood for Love - Day One by Wong Kar Wai. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 4,284,000.00 (€ 476,535.66), 43% above the upper estimate. With this result, In the Mood for Love - Day One is even the most expensive work of art by Wong Kar Wai that we have observed at auctions so far.
