Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Corner of a Garden (By the Lake) by Wu Guanzhong was sold in the 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 13,500,000.00 – 24,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 14,895,000.00 (€ 1,785,330.86) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wu Guanzhong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Zhou Village in April 2016 with an auction result of HKD 236,000,000.00 (€ 26,588,934.53).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A Corner of a Garden (By the Lake) von Wu Guanzhong wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 13.500.000,00 – 24.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 14.895.000,00 (€ 1.785.330,86) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wu Guanzhong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Zhou Village im April 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 236.000.000,00 (€ 26.588.934,53).
