Auction result well in line with expectations
In April this year China Guardian in Hong Kong held the auction Asian 20th Century and Contemporary Art, which included the work Lotus (Painted In 1973) by Wu Guanzhong. The price achieved of HKD 1,560,000.00 (€ 1,593,065.22) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 1,000,000.00 – 2,000,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wu Guanzhong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Zhou Village in April 2016 with an auction result of HKD 236,000,000.00 (€ 26,588,934.53).
