Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Flowers by Yayoi Kusama was sold in the 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May this year. Here, the upper estimate of HKD 55,000,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for HKD 58,455,000.00 (€ 7,006,479.73). Admittedly, works by Yayoi Kusama have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pumpkin in April this year with an auction result of HKD 30,000,000.00 (€ 30,635,869.57).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Flowers von Yayoi Kusama wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von HKD 55.000.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für HKD 58.455.000,00 (€ 7.006.479,73) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Yayoi Kusama auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Pumpkin im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 30.000.000,00 (€ 30.635.869,57).
