In May this year Christies in Hong Kong held the auction 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale, which included the work Statue of Venus Obliterated by Infinity Nets by Yayoi Kusama. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 20,340,000.00 (€ 2,437,974.47), 27% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yayoi Kusama achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pumpkin in April this year with an auction result of HKD 30,000,000.00 (€ 30,635,869.57).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 27 % übertroffen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Statue of Venus Obliterated by Infinity Nets von Yayoi Kusama zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 20.340.000,00 (€ 2.437.974,47) und damit 27% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Yayoi Kusama erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Pumpkin im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 30.000.000,00 (€ 30.635.869,57).
