Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Under certain circumstances II, 2015 by Yrjö Edelmann was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in May last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 700.00 – 1,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 535.50 (€ 499.02). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yrjö Edelmann achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Packed Night Heaven, 2001 in September 2020 with an auction result of USD 30,075.00 (€ 25,665.64).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Under certain circumstances II, 2015 von Yrjö Edelmann im Mai letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 700,00 – 1.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 535,50 (€ 499,02) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Yrjö Edelmann erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Packed Night Heaven, 2001 im September 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 30.075,00 (€ 25.665,64).
