The work Lions by Yue Minjun was sold in the Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2020. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 3,528,000.00 (€ 390,754.70), 26% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yue Minjun achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Execution in October 2007 with an auction result of GBP 2,932,500.00 (€ 4,211,262.96).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Lions von Yue Minjun wurde im Oktober 2020 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 3.528.000,00 (€ 390.754,70) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Yue Minjun erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Execution im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.932.500,00 (€ 4.211.262,96).
