Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2018 Christies in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Asia: New York Edition, which included the work Embrasement (Conflagration) by Zao Wou-Ki. Here, the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 5,625.00 (€ 4,820.05). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zao Wou-Ki achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 29.09.64. in May last year with an auction result of HKD 278,000,000.00 (€ 33,004,566.21).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Asia: New York Edition durch, in der auch die Arbeit Embrasement (Conflagration) von Zao Wou-Ki zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 5.625,00 (€ 4.820,05) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zao Wou-Ki erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 29.09.64. im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 278.000.000,00 (€ 33.004.566,21).
