11th edition of Singapore Art Week

An entire island under the sign of art

Early in the year, Singapore Art Week puts a first exclamation mark on the art world: with more than 130 events spread across the small island and city state, the whole of Singapore becomes part of the art fair. The 11th edition of SAW begins on 6 January.

For ten days, Singapore celebrates its vibrant art scene and invites guests from all over the world to be part of it. From 6 to 15 January 2023, visitors can experience »new works and playful interventions that transform spaces across the island«. The more than 130 events taking place are located throughout the Southeast Asian island and city state. Art museums, galleries, independent associations and public spaces will thus help shape the 11th edition of Singapore Art Week.

Special attention should be paid to Pulp III: A Short Biography of the Banished Book, the exhibition of the Singapore Pavilion at the Venice Biennale 2022, which marks the third phase of artist Shubigi Rao's ten-year project Pulp. Rao explores the presentation and dissemination of knowledge, in this work primarily in the form of films and books. She is known for her long-standing, multidisciplinary projects and installations that process archival material.Art.Salon
