Countless gestural repetitions: By highlighting their artistic and craft processes, the two artists Agata Kycia and Jakob Drömmer explore the connections between materiality and spatial perception, between craftsmanship and digital aesthetics. Both Kycia and Drömmer studied architecture; their different artistic positions, which both deal with craftsmanship and repetition, are strongly influenced by this background. Using basic, simple means and materials, Kycia and Drömmer create quiet, complex works that, through their structures and the interplay of light and shadow, affect human spatial and geometric perception. The exhibition One by One offers a unique juxtaposition of Kycia's embroideries, linocuts, and screen prints and Drömmer's wood reliefs. It can be seen from February 8 to 28 at the KungerKiez gallery in Berlin.

Agata Kycia, who is participating in the Art.Salon artist program, has been living in Berlin since 2011. Her artistic work combines various media such as textile art, printmaking, painting, drawing, and embroidery, and is shaped by her personal experiences as a woman and mother, turning her artworks into visual expressions of emotion. Kycia repeatedly initiates a dialogue between digital precision and human craftsmanship flaws. In addition to her artistic activities, Kycia, who received her doctorate from the Technical University of Berlin in 2021 with a thesis on material-informed design strategies through 3D printing on textiles, explores the potential of combining materials science and digital design as a researcher.Art.Salon
