An exhibition for graphic art: Galleri Heike Arndt DK has been hosting its annual Open Call Mini Maxi Print since 2014. The Danish gallery from Kettinge opened another location in Berlin in 2008, where works by 48 selected graphic artists are on display this year. The artists come from 23 countries and deal with pressing social issues: »The works not only create space for reflection and inspiration, but hopefully also leave the viewer surprised and moved«, as the gallery puts it. Mini Maxi Print is specially designed to draw increased attention to multiple printing techniques such as lithography, woodcut, copperplate engraving, etching, and linocut. The exhibition opens on October 1 at 7 p.m. and runs until December 20. In 2026, it will be on display again from March 2 to May 30.

Artist Agata Kycia is exhibiting linocuts from her She series in Mini Maxi Print. The minimalist images are characterized by curved shapes that suggest symmetry. They are composed of numerous short lines and, when viewed from a distance, resemble fingerprints. With her forms that oscillate between uniqueness and sameness, Kycia questions role models and representations of women and ideals of beauty in today's society. The artist's work is strongly influenced by her background as an architect and her interest in geometry, but also by her life experience as a woman and mother. Compositions dominated by geometric shapes thus become a visual expression of emotions.

Kycia's artistic work is characterized by various media, especially textile and ceramic art. Recently, she has shifted her focus to printmaking, which she combines with painting, drawing, and embroidery. The artist also works as a researcher, exploring the intersections between digital design and materials science. In 2021, she received her doctorate from the Faculty of Architecture at the Technical University of Berlin on design strategies and form finding through 3D printing on textiles.Art.Salon
