With the energy and curiosity of the first day: even after 50 years as a freelance artist, Georg Brandner feels no fatigue, and his thirst for knowledge is far from quenched. The well-traveled artist, who has explored every continent except Antarctica, is in his studio every day from 6 a.m. and processes his experiences and adventures into multi-layered abstract works that seem to radiate a powerful energy, particularly through their intense red color. A wide variety of techniques and materials merge to create his unique style. The artworks speak a universal language that transcends man-made cultural and artistic boundaries and appeals to a more nuanced view of the world.

Brandner's works are collected internationally and have been shown in over 300 exhibitions. In 2026, he will celebrate his 50th anniversary as an artist—a journey marked by ups and downs, but one that Brandner has always pursued with determination—as well as his 70th birthday with several solo exhibitions. The trained glazier and self-taught artist, who lives in Niklasdorf, will also be presenting his latest works, such as his Travel Tattoos series, which was created after a trip to Southeast Asia. In addition to his artistic activities, Brandner, who has also created numerous commissioned works, works as a lecturer and curator.
