September 20, 2021

Switzerland's first and only international photo art fair, photo basel, will take place in autumn at the same time as Art Basel. In its sixth edition from 21-26 September 2021, interested visitors can look forward to 40 international exhibitors from 16 nations at the Volkshaus Basel. The fair will bring together galleries from all over the world with the aim to provide collectors as well as visitors and buyers with an active platform that promotes dialogue between all participants in the photography community and beyond. National and international exhibitors, young as well as renowned galleries, those with a bold contemporary programme alongside those with a strong historical position will be given the opportunity for exchange and networking.

The artistic direction of the current edition of photo basel has been taken over by photography specialist Audrey Hoareau. She impresses not only with her past work as collection manager of the Musée Nicéphore Niépce in Chalon-sur-Saône (2003-2016), but also with her involvement in the launch of the Lianzhou Museum of Photography in China.Art.Salon

Ferdinand Georg Waldmüller is often associated with the Biedermeier period, yet his paintings—especially his landscapes, which he created outdoors from life—tell a different story. For the first time, an exhibition of the painter’s work is coming to the United Kingdom: Waldmüller: Landscapes opens on July 2 at the National Gallery in London.
