A reflection on social upheavals since the late 20th century: Based on the biblical motif of expulsion from paradise, the exhibition Exit Paradise explores contemporary views on topics such as physicality, alienation, eroticism, and revolt. Around 120 works of art by over 50 artists are presented in twelve themed stations, offering a glimpse into aesthetic and political discourses of the recent past. The works come from the renowned Miettinen Collection, a major private collection of contemporary art in Europe comprising a total of around 2,000 works. Exit Paradise is part of a series of exhibitions marking the 70th birthday of Timo Miettinen and was also developed by Ars Sacrow e.V. as an anniversary exhibition celebrating the 650th anniversary of the municipality of Sacrow, now a district of Potsdam. The exhibition can be seen at Schloss Sacrow until September 28.

»Timo Miettinen is a true cultural ambassador for Finland in Berlin. He does not hide his collection behind high walls, but regularly makes it accessible to the public. The approximately 2,000 works of art in the Miettinen Collection are not only an expression of the collector's professional passion, but also offer a good overview of current trends in contemporary art production. Their strength lies in their diversity and expressiveness«, says Michael M. Thoss, curator of the exhibition. The artists featured include Amoako Boafo, Louise Bourgeois, Cecily Brown, Elina Brotherus, Werner Büttner, André Butzer, Rainer Fetting, Pieter Hugo, Jürgen Klauke, Ola Kolehmainen, Barthélémy Toguo, Tommi Toija, Tom of Finland, and Andy Warhol.Art.Salon
