From 23 to 27 February, ARCOmadrid celebrates its 40th anniversary. Last year, it was necessary to fall back on a date in the summer, but now the art fair is taking place again at the traditional time. In addition to the 150 galleries that make up the basic programme, the fair is made up of three sections: Galleries that have been in existence for less than seven years exhibit in the Opening by Allianz category and provide insight into the young gallery scene. The section is curated by Övül Ö. Durmusoglu and Julia Morandeira. The Never the Same section is aimed at Latin American artists and is curated by Mariano Mayer and Manuela Moscoso. In a third section, ARCO 40 (+1) Anniversary, around 20 galleries participate that have been part of ARCOmadrid since its beginnings. The curators are María Inés Rodríguez, Francesco Stocchi and Sergio Rubira.

As in the last edition, the artists' projects are exclusively dedicated to female artists. In addition to artworks, publications will also be presented at the fair, with the Arts Libris area inviting visitors to attend. Talks about new publications will be held in the Arts Libris Speaker's Corner. The traditional ARCOmadrid Forum is a general place for exchange. Here, gallery owners and experts discuss perspectives in contemporary art. New is an area for discussions that are not meant to take place in public, the Office: Open For Discussion.Art.Salon
