The fragility of nature and technology: the sight of massive mountain landscapes, created over millions of years, gives an idea of the permanence and seemingly infinite power of nature. In the hands of modern man, however, nature reveals itself to be a fragile system that is exposed to serious threats. In comparison, important human achievements such as clockworks can appear fragile and symbolize transience, but also permanence. In her series of works entitled time measure in the alps, artist Christine Keruth addresses the contrast between nature and technology in a unique way: Drawings of watch movements based on technical drawings by famous Swiss watch manufacturers meet graceful depictions of the Alpine landscape. Keruth's works open up a complex dialog about concepts of time and the relationship between man and nature in the face of man-made climate change. The solo exhibition of the same name, time measure in the alps, can be seen at the Vorona Gallery in Berlin from April 4 to April 7. The opening hours are Monday to Saturday from 11 am to 6 pm.

Christine Keruth, who is taking part in the Art.Salon artist program, studied painting at the Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee and now lives and works in Berlin and Potsdam. In 2021, she completed her doctorate at the University of Potsdam on the topic of The Pietà Iconic in Contemporary Art. Modification and innovation of a pictorial formula. Her artistic work is influenced by her academic career: Her research, observations and structuring are designed to change perspectives. Her artworks combine art and science and challenge viewers to reflect. Since 2022, Keruth has been working with technical drawings, which she juxtaposes with abstract expressionist paintings on canvas, creating a tension between precision and emotion in her works.Art.Salon
