Like magma bubbling beneath the surface, Tina Buchholtz's paintings conceal countless layers of paint with which the artist captures the raw power of nature on canvas. Buchholtz has been working predominantly with a palette knife for more than 20 years: using her own specially developed technique, she uses the blade of the palette knife to create fine lines of color that overlap and intersect. The structured surface leaves the viewer with the impression of depth and dynamism. In her current solo exhibition MAGMA, Buchholtz is presenting a selection of her unmistakable works. The vernissage will take place on February 13 at 6 pm in the well-known Berlin gallery F37, which creates an extraordinary atmosphere for an art exhibition with its wine and champagne bar. Tina Buchholtz will be on site for an artist talk at the finissage on March 12 from 6 pm.
Tina Buchholtz, who is taking part in the Art.Salon artist program, devotes her work to the contrast between stillness and movement using motifs inspired by nature. The Berlin-born artist is a regular participant at art fairs worldwide and is in demand among collectors internationally. Her works can be found in private and public collections in China, Japan, the USA, the United Kingdom, the UAE and Switzerland, among others.
As part of the InterNationalgalerie series, the Alte Nationalgalerie invites other institutions to exhibit in its own spaces. Kicking off the series on June 18 is the National Museum in Warsaw with the exhibition Inventing Myths.
Through June 27, Elvira Flamm is showcasing three works from her series Ikonen ohne Namen (Icons without Names) in the Made in Berlin Art Award 2026 exhibition. She was selected as one of 20 artists for the show at the BBA Gallery.
