With Printmaking 2025, the Berufsverband bildender Künstler*innen Oberbayern Nord und Ingolstadt e.V. (Professional Association of Visual Artists Upper Bavaria North and Ingolstadt e.V.) is organizing an exhibition dedicated to traditional printing techniques for the fifth time. A total of 107 works of art by 61 artists will be on display, all of whom are using well-known techniques to create new and experimental forms of expression. The show offers a cross-section of contemporary printmaking and celebrates the diversity of the medium. The vernissage will take place on February 22 at 7 p.m., after which the exhibition will run until March 16.

Among the exhibiting artists is Mimi Mynz, who is taking part in the Art.Salon artist program. The works of the artist and graphic designer are inspired by real architecture and the emotions that the buildings trigger in Mynz. The artist is not interested in reproducing architecture, rather she translates elements and perspectives of buildings into two-dimensional forms. Her reinterpretations are dominated by clear lines and expressive color choices. Three of the artist's risographs can be seen in Printmaking 2025. This special printing technique lends the strictness of the graphic forms a lively structure over which the artist has no influence. Mynz's risographs thrive on the conflict-laden tension between detailed, planned forms and the spontaneous influence and changes brought about by the printing process.

Risography is a variant of stencil printing developed by the Japanese artist Noboru Hayama. They can be recognized above all by the luminosity of the soy inks used. A characteristic of risography is that the different colors are printed one after the other, so that the color application varies slightly with each copy. This lively application of color makes each Riso print unique.
