The artworks encompass painting, photography, sculpture, video, and installation art: From December 2, 2025, to April 6, 2026, the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art will present numerous new acquisitions from 2022 to the present. The new works also include several donations. For the museum in Humblebæk, located about 35 km north of Copenhagen, contemporary art is central to the collection. Director Paul Erik Tøjner explains the fundamental motivation for expanding the collection as follows: »The possibility of adding new works is crucial because it provides material for new and different stories and for surprising encounters, supports the dynamic development of the collection and contributes to future-proofing Louisiana as an up-to-date museum of international class.« The works on display include pieces by Diane Arbus, Pipilotti Rist, Dana Schutz, Alex Da Corte, and Richard Prince.

The Louisiana Museum's collection comprises around 4,000 works in almost every artistic medium. The works date from 1945 to the present day. Most of the works in the collection are paintings and sculptures, with a particular focus on Nouveau Réalisme, American Pop Art, German art since 1980, and video art since 1990. Major new acquisitions from the last 10 years include works by Louise Bourgeois, David Hockney, Philip Guston, Franz West, Jeff Wall, and Öyvind Fahlström.Art.Salon
