A Surrealist Takes on Science Fiction
For 90 years, the Art Institute of Chicago has maintained a tradition of exhibiting collected works by surrealists. Now, for the first time, it is presenting an exhibition by a surrealist artist whose work was centered in Mexico: beginning July 29, Remedios Varo: Science Fictions will introduce visitors to an enchanting mix of themes that electrified the art world as early as the 1950s with a touch of science fiction.
