Promotion Award of the Province of Styria with new category for »serial art«

The Promotion Award of the Province of Styria for contemporary visual art has been awarded to artists from Styria since 1959, at that time under a different name. This year's competition exhibition opens a little later than planned on December 12, 2021, and the award ceremony will then take place on January 26.

December 06, 2021

Artists who were either born in Styria or have their primary residence there are eligible to submit entries, regardless of age or genre. The various prizes and scholarships range from 4,000 to 8,000 euros, with the main prize worth 10,000 euros. The competition exhibition was curated by Lithuanian artist Lina Albrikiene and will continue to be on view for a month after the awards ceremony until February 27, 2022.

A new feature of the exhibition is the Edition Artelier Award for emerging artists who have made a significant contribution to the field of »serial art«. The artworks submitted there discuss the concepts of original and unique, duplication and seriality, which are topical in the 21st century.Art.Salon
