The Gallerie dell'Accademia in Venice is dedicating a comprehensive exhibition to Indian-British artist Anish Kapoor beginning April 20th. April 19, 2022

Together with the next international art exhibition of the Venice Biennale, the Gallerie dell'Accademia di Venezia (Accademia for short) is dedicating a comprehensive exhibition to the internationally acclaimed artist Anish Kapoor (*1954). From April 20 to October 9, 2022, the museum will not only show Kapoor's early works. In addition, new groundbreaking works by the Indian-British artist will also be presented for the first time, including paintings and sculptures that testify to the vitality and visionary power of his current practice. Some of these works have been created with the aid of carbon nanotechnology.

In addition to the Academy's galleries, the exhibition will also be on view at another prestigious venue: the historic Palazzo Manfrin in the Venetian district of Cannaregio. The building was recently chosen by Kapoor for the headquarters of his artistic foundation and restored by architect Giulia Foscari. The 18th-century Baroque palace is known for its cultural heritage and famous art collection. It was gathered under the care of Count Girolamo Manfrin and today makes up a significant part of the masterpieces exhibited in the museum.Art.Salon
