Cyprus: »Éclat in Larnaca« with Christoph Pauschenwein

The New Urban Presence of Art

Apanage has already caused a stir with its presentation of art on public advertising screens. Now it is opening a »digital exhibition« that will be on view for one month: From April 1 to 30, Éclat in Larnaca will showcase the works of three artists, including Christoph Pauschenwein, in the Cypriot city of Larnaca.

Art is claiming its place in modern society—visible, accessible, and in direct dialogue with the present: Apanage, an institution for digital and analog artists, has already presented art on large, publicly visible screens—which typically display advertisements—through the Apanage Gallery on multiple occasions. In April 2026, the gallery will take its next step with Éclat in Larnaca: instead of just a few days, a screen on Spyrou Kyprianou Avenue in the Cypriot city of Larnaca—one of the three European Capitals of Culture for 2030—will serve as a stage for art for a full month, reaching everyone who passes by. »Éclat is thus not just an exhibition—it is an early cultural statement in a city that is in the process of redefining itself«, explain William Lindhorst and Chiara Berger of Apanage. Éclat in Larnaca will showcase works by Christoph Pauschenwein, Staticfabercut, and Baku from April 1 to 30.

As was the case at Apanage Days Cyprus 2025, the advertising screen—Larnaca’s largest curved screen—will be operated by Apanage’s DOOH partner Treedia, a billboard operator committed to sustainable practices. The billboard is made of a specially developed fabric that absorbs pollutants from the air. In addition, Treedia maintains an extensive tree-planting program.

Christoph Pauschenwein from the Art.Salon artist program is exhibiting a work from his Planets series at Éclat in Larnaca. Like all of his digital works, the 12-second digital animation was created through meticulous craftsmanship without the aid of AI. »My planets are not distant worlds—they are mirrors of our own condition«, says the artist, who explores in depth the relationship between humans and nature, as well as that between organic structures and digital technologies. With his Planets, Pauschenwein explores the intersections of physical and digital realities, fascinated by the infinite creative possibilities they offer. Like Staticfabercut and Baku, the artist belongs to the Apanage Members Club, a curated circle of artists who create their works consciously and out of conviction.Art.Salon
