Water means life: an art exhibition from the AQUARS series, which began in 2021, brings together works by around 40 artists on the theme of water, its importance for life, and the damage caused by humanity through the pollution of lakes, rivers, and the sea. The opening of the current edition, AQUARS IV, will take place on October 25 at 6:30 p.m. at the iKonika Art Gallery in Milan, where it will be on display until October 31. The exhibition was curated by Eva Amos from the organization ART SPACE MILANO.

Among the exhibiting artists is Elvira Flamm, who is participating in the Art.Salon artist program. She is showing two watercolors from her series Leben (Life), in which she explores the infinite diversity of life that a single drop of water can contain. As important as water is for small and large living beings, it is also a universe for cells and microorganisms, whose existence conveys a completely different view of the concept of »life«. Algae are also at the center of Flamm's series of works. They are one of the oldest life forms on earth and, through photosynthesis, are the fundamental suppliers of oxygen for aquatic and terrestrial life. Using watercolor techniques with their inherent independence in form, the artist captures the nature of these fascinating life forms.

Elvira Flamm is a versatile artist who adapts her medium to the subject matter and enjoys experimenting with materials. Her creative process does not follow a fixed structure: some works are created strictly according to concept, others spontaneously. Her work, which is often created in series, is particularly influenced by her experiences in Suriname, where she lived for 16 years. The artist, who studied at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam, has been based in Berlin since 2014.

From November 14, several works from Flamm's Fading Life series will be on display at the Charity Art Gallery in Stockholm.Art.Salon
