In a former church, art reveals the complexity of silence: where once there was reverent silence, art exhibitions and concerts now take place. An exhibition by Nartwork APS, a network of international artists, now uses the atmosphere of a church interior to draw attention to the voices of those who remain unheard. The exhibits explore the intersections of visibility and invisibility, pain and hope. Twenty-nine artists from 16 countries present selected works in Veils of Silence at the San Vidal Exhibition Space. Some of the artists, curators Rossella Bellan and Antonietta Panico, and art critic Gianpasquale Greco will be present at the opening on February 21. The exhibition ends on February 28.

The artist Elvira Flamm is exhibiting a work from her series Icons without names, which she began in 2022 and now comprises more than 100 works. They are based on media images that report on crisis situations around the world but are quickly forgotten. Flamm depicts these images as pixelated to illustrate that people whose faces are seen in the media worldwide nevertheless remain anonymous and are not perceived as individuals. The artistic transformation gives them lasting visibility. In her extensive oeuvre, artist Elvira Flamm repeatedly explores the various levels of meaning of the seemingly ordinary and everyday. She chooses her medium depending on the theme of the work, be it watercolor or acrylic painting or experimental approaches with unusual materials such as leaves in collage-like works or texts integrated into paintings. Flamm's creative process does not follow a fixed structure: some works are created in a strictly conceptual manner, others in a spontaneous way.Art.Salon
