Auction result well in line with expectations

In September 2013 Christies in New York held the auction The Art of Nandalal Bose, Abanindranath Tagore and Rabindranath Tagore: The Supratik Bose Collection, which included the work Untitled (Storm Cloud) by Abanindranath Tagore. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,232.36) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abanindranath Tagore achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Siva-Simantini) in September 2013 with an auction result of USD 555,750.00 (€ 410,602.14).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im September 2013 führte Christies in New York die Auktion The Art of Nandalal Bose, Abanindranath Tagore and Rabindranath Tagore: The Supratik Bose Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Storm Cloud) von Abanindranath Tagore zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 4.375,00 (€ 3.232,36) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Abanindranath Tagore erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Siva-Simantini) im September 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 555.750,00 (€ 410.602,14).
