Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2008 Phillips in London held the auction Contemporary Art Part I, which included this untitled work by Afrika. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 22,100.00 (€ 28,905.93) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Afrika have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in February 2007 the work Malevich! was auctioned for GBP 30,000.00 (€ 44,473.92).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2008 führte Phillips in London die Auktion Contemporary Art Part I durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Afrika zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 22.100,00 (€ 28.905,93) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Afrika konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Februar 2007 die Arbeit Malevich! für GBP 30.000,00 (€ 44.473,92) versteigert.
