Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Boy Carrying Spaghetti in Torre Annunziata Near Naples by Alfred Eisenstaedt was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in December 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,020.00 (€ 901.22). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alfred Eisenstaedt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Children At A Puppet Theatre, Paris' in October 2008 with an auction result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 39,425.96).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Boy Carrying Spaghetti in Torre Annunziata Near Naples von Alfred Eisenstaedt im Dezember 2021 bei Bonhams in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.020,00 (€ 901,22) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alfred Eisenstaedt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 'Children At A Puppet Theatre, Paris' im Oktober 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 39.425,96).
