Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Alfredo Jaar was sold in the Bette Davis Eyes and Other Natural Phenomena: Photographs at No Reserve auction at Sothebys in New York in July 2021. The price achieved of USD 1,512.00 (€ 1,274.44) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alfredo Jaar achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Refugee (Water) in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 60,000.00 (€ 56,721.50).

Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Alfredo Jaar wurde im Juli 2021 in der Auktion Bette Davis Eyes and Other Natural Phenomena: Photographs at No Reserve bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.512,00 (€ 1.274,44) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.000,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alfredo Jaar erzielen.
