This artwork by André Derain achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in November last year. In the Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale auction, the work Masque sold for USD 12,600.00 (€ 12,205.75) - well above the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by André Derain achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Arbres À Collioure in June 2010 with an auction result of GBP 16,281,250.00 (€ 19,799,515.40).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von André Derain erzielte im November letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Masque für USD 12.600,00 (€ 12.205,75) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von André Derain erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Arbres À Collioure im Juni 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.281.250,00 (€ 19.799.515,40).
