Auction result well in line with expectations
In May this year Christies in New York held the auction Masterpieces from the S.I. Newhouse Collection, which included the work Martinson Coffee by Andy Warhol. The price achieved of USD 1,986,000.00 (€ 1,864,088.61) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,500,000.00 – 2,500,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Masterpieces from the S.I. Newhouse Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Martinson Coffee von Andy Warhol zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.986.000,00 (€ 1.864.088,61) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.500.000,00 – 2.500.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Andy Warhol erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Shot Sage Blue Marilyn im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 195.040.000,00 (€ 181.753.797,41).
