Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Andy Warhol achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March this year. In the Art of Collecting: A Pacific Island Connoisseur of Art and Design auction, the work Repent and Sin No More! (Negative) sold for USD 214,200.00 (€ 197,019.87) - well above the upper estimate of USD 100,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).
In der Auktion Art of Collecting: A Pacific Island Connoisseur of Art and Design wurde die Arbeit Repent and Sin No More!
