Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Skull by Andy Warhol was sold in the Post-War & Contemporary ArtEvening Sale auction at Christies in London in June 2008. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 600,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 657,250.00 (€ 830,786.04). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Skull von Andy Warhol wurde im Juni 2008 in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary ArtEvening Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 600.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 657.250,00 (€ 830.786,04) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Andy Warhol erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Shot Sage Blue Marilyn im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 195.040.000,00 (€ 181.753.797,41).
