Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Les Piques, 1993 by Annette Messager was worth EUR 47,286.00 to a buyer in May 2012. This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art 1 at Artcurial and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of EUR 15,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Annette Messager; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot 9 piques sold at auction in June 2012 with the realized price of EUR 58,600.00.
