Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Monolith, the Face of Half-Dome, 1927 by Ansel Adams was auctioned at Christies in New York in February 2005. The price achieved of USD 5,400.00 (€ 4,068.10) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ansel Adams achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Grand Tetons and the Snake River, Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 988,000.00 (€ 807,849.55).

Die Arbeit Monolith, the Face of Half-Dome, 1927 von Ansel Adams kam im Februar 2005 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.400,00 (€ 4.068,10) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ansel Adams erzielen.
